In recent days, Huawei has made public the beta of HarmonyOS . The opportunity for users to take a look at what to expect. The first feedback is generally rather positive . Some users report that the operating system works relatively well, smoothly and without major issues. Others do not hesitate to say that it is even more pleasant to handle than Android.
However, many owners of Huawei smartphones that have received the notification are reluctant to install the update. This is for a simple reason: not everyone is ready to give up immediately on Google services , which most have been using for years and which are an integral part of Android. Also, the question arises: what happens to these services, applications and other little habits after changing the operating system?
HARMONYOS ... BUT WITH GOOGLE SERVICES
Surprisingly, it seems that, ultimately, not much changes for some users. At least, they've gone smoothly from one operating system to another, but while HarmonyOS is installed, Google services are still accessible . This is indeed what shows a member of Weibo, owner of a Huawei Mate 40 Pro + . The latter shares several screenshots where he opens Google applications, including the Play Store and his account page.
It does not explain this state of affairs and Huawei has not, to date, warned anyone that it would be possible to use Google services with the beta of HarmonyOS. We do not yet know if this will last or if the Huawei P50, which will be the first smartphone under HarmonyOS , will also be able to benefit from it when it is released. It also remains to be confirmed whether this concerns all Huawei devices, or just the Huawei Mate 40 Pro +. If you are still hesitant to update, it might be time to find out.
