Honor

Honor is committed to outperforming its former parent company, HuaweiFreed from American sanctions, the Chinese brand is preparing the arrival of new Android smartphones under the name “Magic”. Powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888, these future flagships will compete with the Huawei P50 and the Mate range. Honor promises in particular to compete with Huawei in the field of photography.

At the end of 2020, Huawei sold the Honor subsidiary to a Chinese consortium of forty companies for the sum of 12.8 billion euros. Independent from Huawei, Honor escapes US sanctions decreed by Donald Trump in 2019. The Chinese firm has therefore negotiated a partnership with Qualcomm to integrate Snapdragon processors , including the powerful SoC Snapdragon 888, to its next smartphones. In addition, Honor would have managed to negotiate the return of the Play Store , and precious Google applications, on its smartphones.

On the strength of its partnerships with Google and Qualcomm, Honor is currently working on the release of a new range of smartphones under the name Magic . During a press briefing with Chinese media on March 19, 2021, George Zhao, CEO of Honor, disclosed new information about the brand's upcoming devices, MyFixGuide reports.

HONOR IS PREPARING A RANGE OF PREMIUM SMARTPHONES

“The best way to respect Huawei is for Honor to develop even better,” assured George Zhao. According to the leader, future Honor Magic will be able to surpass the range of Huawei P and Mate. “ If Honor wants to have an impact on the high-end market, it will position itself and make Magic the best product in the industry, surpassing the level of Huawei P and Mate” underlines the CEO.

“We are perhaps the biggest start-up in China,” said the executive. Freed from the restrictions imposed by its former parent company, Honor is determined to take advantage of the technologies provided by Qualcomm and Google . The brand's next devices will be high-end oriented. Until now, Huawei has prevented Honor from venturing into premium in order to avoid competition with its own flagships. Smartphones in the Magic range will particularly stand out thanks to better image processing features. George Zhao attributes these novelties to the contribution of partners like Google and Qualcomm.

Future Honor Magic are currently in development and will land by the end of the year. It is also rumored that the next flagships of Honor will be announced next July . We'll tell you more as soon as possible. While waiting for more information, feel free to give your opinion in the comments below.
