SONY ZV-1
A few days ago (and with a lot of mystery) a new camera model was announced that is now finally official. This is the Sony ZV-1, an advanced compact, with 1" sensor, laterally folding LCD, directional microphone and features designed to fall in love with video creators. We are talking about all those YouTubers and VLoggers, many of whom use their mobile and may want to take a leap with a camera that offers them more versatility and quality.

The new ZV-1 improves a mobile in the sections of blur and bokeh, in the ease of taking selfies or self-recording, in the quality of audio and image and in autonomy, only leaving something behind when it comes to the possibilities to share photos. These cameras already have many outstanding features (compact body, integrated stabilizer, luminous lens, speed of focus and shooting...) to which some others have now added (fully folding screen, three-capsule directional microphone, recording warning lamp, minijack input, specialized buttons...) to make a model that wants to start a new generation for Vlogging.

And it certainly is for Sony, because this camera opens a new family within its catalog, so we can't talk strictly about new features in relation to a previous model. But we can compare it to the Sony RX100 in addition to commenting on the points sony intends to highlight from the camera

Data so cold may not tell us much, so it is advisable to compare it with the latest RX100 and so we will realize that it shares many internal components with them, starting with the CMOS Exmor RS sensor of stacked type, with an inch in size and 20.1 Mpíxels of resolution. Although at the video level there are many other things to highlight, and certainly one of its strengths should be some of the specialized functions it includes.

This is the case of the measurement algorithm that allows to prioritize the face (which automatically detects) to adjust the exposure and thus ensure that it is represented with an optimal brightness. And to ensure focus, the camera is complemented by the RX100 V's AF system (with 315 AF points and only 0.03 seconds to focus) with real-time object tracking system, including the already famous Eye AF enhanced over the mentioned model as it now also has animal detection.

In addition, it works in both photo and video. Other interesting functions come from the hand of two dedicated buttons on the camera body. The first, which would be the C1, activates the Bokeh function that allows you to blur the face in the foreground quickly and easily. The C2 button puts the camera into Product Presentation mode, eliminating the priority of the focus system faces and activating the foreground focus to make it easier for YouTubers to make product videos easier. Also included is the usual steady-shot although they ensure that it has been improved compared to previous models and allows, combining optical and digital stabilization, to ensure a perfect photo image and, above all, on video even if the user is walking. Moreover, it should be noted that the ZV-1 includes an ND filter and the BIONZ X image processor that allows you to shoot up to 24 fps.

And if internally the differences with your sisters are not many, especially with the RX100 V, externally they already become much more patent. Not only for the screen totally folding, unreleased in this family, but also for a very special top design, and very different from that of its sisters, and that includes a video recording button almost the same size as the trigger.

The flaky viewfinder has disappeared and there is also no flash; Instead a large directional microphone located at the top has been included, although it retains a shoe in which you can insert an external flash, or the anti-winding hair accessory that is included (and which by the way gives a curious touch to the camera).

Finally, it will come with new accessories designed for a better video recording experience, to highlight a hybrid tripod/handle that includes buttons for controlling the camera wirelessly via Bluetooth.
