Huawei would ultimately not be ready to unveil the Huawei P50. According to a source familiar with the matter, the Chinese manufacturer has postponed its presentation to May 2021. The reason is obvious: once again, Huawei is suffering the consequences of the embargo decreed by Donald Trump. Joe Biden does not plan to lift the sanctions imposed by his predecessor, despite pressure from suppliers . De facto, the Chinese firm would encounter some difficulties in sourcing components , no longer being able to buy them from American companies as usual. It would thus have no choice but to postpone the launch of the Huawei P50 on international markets.

No wonder, therefore, that Huawei is slow to communicate an official release date for its next flagship. The manufacturer somehow manages to circumvent the obstacles imposed, in particular by developing HarmonyOS, its own operating system with which the Huawei P50 will be equipped . But the difficulty is quite different in obtaining the necessary components.
The source does not detail which particular ones are problematic for Huawei. Its (very) large photo sensor should in theory not be part of the list, since it is designed by Sony .
