FUJIFILM X-S10: Nothing will be the same again | As rumors always happen, they've continued to ring in recent weeks. Finally, the new Fuji X-S10was introduced, the first in a new family, promising to achieve the high quality standards of its older sisters in a noticeably more compact body. In fact, Fujifilm has just moved the boards and targeted the fashion of other manufacturers to offer much more compact bodies with the performance of the largest professional equipment.
This is the trait that differentiates it within the signature. You could say we're looking at a little professional camera. With features similar to high-end ones and with the size of smaller models like the Fuji X-T30. We are therefore facing a merger of its systems, just as Sony did with the A7c.
It has a stabilization system that can reach up to six steps and a viewfinder of similar performance within a magnesium alloy body that allows it to be robust and lightweight at the same time. This new camera measures 126x85, 1x65, 4mm and weighs 465g. It is heavier than an X-T30 (383g) and lighter than an X-T4 (607g).
This is the key to this new range, as well as including the stabilization system that was only present in two other models of the brand. The design of the body is brand new. Surprise at that generous grip that stands out totally. And it's meant to be handled with one hand. As always, the right-hander wins this game... we have to adapt (I think I wouldn't be able to handle one designed for accidents like me). But inside it shares many elements with the Fuji X-T4.
To start the sensor is exactly the same. The articulated LCD display is the same. When it comes to getting into the menus we find the same functions, the same configuration possibilities... The only thing that differs is in the theme of the video. The sensor is the well-known 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4, with the X-Processor 4 processor.
So we can achieve the same results that we all know about our older sister. At least on paper. The video looks much more like an X-T3 than today's reference model. It allows registration in 4K but does not reach 60p. But if we want to make a slow movement this machine reaches 240p in FullHD.
4K is of high quality, as it can be recorded in 10-bit 4:2:2 for about 30 minutes depending on the circumstances. This camera's auto focus is also not late. It covers 100% of the sensor area with 2.16 Mp of phase detection. It works as fast as we were used to after the latest updates, has face and eye detection and works in low light conditions (up to -7 EV). And remember that everything in a noticeably smaller body.
