Microsoft is preparing a little surprise on Xbox Series X and Xbox S Series . Tom Warren tells us in fact that the firm is testing a version of Microsoft Edge specially designed for its new home consoles.
And beware, because this version will obviously have nothing to envy to the one available on our computers.Tom Warren explains in his tweet that the tested version is the one based on Chromium. Either the most recent version of Edge.
Microsoft Edge approaching on Xbox Series X | S
Better yet, this version would also offer the same functions that are available on our PCs and Macs. It would therefore support extensions, collections, but also vertical tabs.
In other words, there wouldn't be any noticeable difference between this version and the one you might be using on a daily basis.
In addition, the Microsoft ecosystem requires, the user should be able to synchronize his data and thus find his entire surf ecosystem on his console.
No deployment date for the moment
However, at this stage, no launch date is mentioned. Microsoft obviously prefers to conduct tests before deploying the browser on our consoles.
Either way, it's still good news. With a good browser, it is indeed possible to access a lot of online services and the arrival of Edge on the Xbox Series X | S should therefore extend the field of possibilities.
