The new Telegram update for iOS and Android introduces a very significant novelty, which is the possibility of moving chats and messages to Telegram from WhatsApp and other instant messaging applications such as Signal or Thread, among others.
In addition to this significant novelty, however, Telegram has introduced eight other new features, which we will review below. They're as follows:
-Bigger control of digital presence: In Telegram you can delete the messages you have sent and make them disappear for the person who receives them. Now the application, in addition to allowing you to delete messages, will also allow secret chats, groups created by you and the call history to be deleted. All of them can now also be removed for everyone at any time. In addition, since the Telegram servers do not store the information, there will be no trace of them.
-Improved voice chats: Telegram launched voice chats just a month ago, which are certainly similar to the ClubHouse social network or the Spaces that Twitter prepares . Now you can more easily see which are the active voice chats at the top of the call history screen. In addition, you can now adjust the volume of participants individually by selecting the microphone levels. That is, when an administrator applies a change, it will affect all participants.
-Improvements in the audio player: Related to the previous change, from now on, when you listen to an audio track in Telegram, if you click on the author's name in the player you will be able to see their tracks in all their chats. You can also skip a part, going forward and backward with the «Next» and «Previous buttons.
-Fade effect: Telegram has added a fade effect to make the transition smoother when you pause or resume your music.
-Stickers to greet: When one of your contacts joins Telegram, the app sends you a message to let you know . Now in addition, a greeting sticker will be made available to you in your new chats, ready to be sent to that person who has just arrived on Telegram.
-New animations on Android. Telegram releases new animations when downloading files, playing music or loading chats after logging in. Of course, only on Android.
-Report fake channels. Until now content could be reported, but from now on, false channels and groups that impersonate companies or groups can also be reported. You will only have to press the three dots on your profile screen and click on «Report»> «Fake account». Telegram moderators will review it.
-Accessibility improvements. Finally, Telegram has added accessibility improvements for TalkBack and VoiceOver users, and also in the app interface.
