Twitch

It seems that this is a period of novelty for the world of livestreaming. In fact, following the introduction of verified chats on Twitch , the well-known purple portal is testing an interesting possibility, allowing users to promote their favorite channel .

Going into more detail, the popular platform has revealed the existence of a test related to this feature. More precisely, as part of an "experiment", users can pay to promote a streamer , potentially causing them to end up on the Twitch home page. How does it all work in detail? According to what was reported by The Verge , as well as as illustrated by Twitch itself during the Patch Notes of 30 September 2021, during a live stream an indication may appear on the screen relating to the fact that the Boost option is active.

Users can press the appropriate button for 10 minutes and everything is activated randomly during the live. Each live stream can be the "good one" for the channels involved in the test. In fact, the "Boost mode" can appear at any moment . Someone has obviously associated this possibility with the Twitch Community Challenge called "Boost This Stream" , but in this case, instead of Channel Points, there is real money at stake.Within the 10 minutes that represent the "Boost mode", users who are most fond of the streamer involved can in fact decide to support him by purchasing a certain number of "recommendations" .

In an example published online, you can see the possibility of opting for two packages: the one for $ 0.99 (which allows the channel to get 1,000 "recommendations") and the one for 2.97 dollars (3,000 "recommendations").For the moment it is only a test linked to a few Twitch channels, but you understand that it could be an interesting feature if extended to all. On the other hand, Jacob Rosok, Twitch Product Manager, said that it was the same Content Creators who asked for a possibility of this type, so that the community "chooses" which channels are pushed by the platform. How will this first test phase go? We'll see.
