Video autoplay may be partially blocked by default on Microsoft Edge browser .Autoplaying videos are resource intensive and can spoil user experience. Microsoft is aware of this and wants to offer tools to users of its Edge browser to get rid of it.
Test on Edge Canary
Currently, two options are available in the settings. One, enabled by default, allows automatic playback with audio. The other allows you to disable the automatic launch of a video, but only on a site already visited.
On Edge Canary (beta version), Microsoft is testing the switch to the option to limit automatic video playback by default, which would no longer need to be activated manually. A change that could land on the stable version of the browser soon.
Finally, let us add that it is possible to outright block all the videos that would like to be launched without the user's consent. However, this function is unstable and can make web pages buggy, which is why it is not offered in the parameters, but only in the flags.
