TikTok

TikTok is still not blocked in the United States, despite the efforts that Donald Trump has been able to deploy in this direction. So the Chinese social network, very popular among young people, takes the opportunity to continue to develop.

It could also soon activate new growth levers. On the monetization front, this will mean bringing new e-commerce functionalities online. In other words, as Facebook offers (especially on Instagram), "tiktokers" will be able to insert links in their content leading to merchant sites, and the platform will be able to earn a fraction of the amount spent by users. having clicked on the link before purchasing a product.

This affiliation which will generate commissions, and therefore turnover for TikTok, should be deployed everywhere on TikTok, and not just as part of marketing campaigns sponsored by brands. As such, TikTok would also consider being much more aggressive on the e-commerce front, allowing brands present on the network to display their collections and catalogs more effectively.

It may thus be possible to tour a shoe manufacturer's collection without leaving the application. And to go a little further, a new "teleshopping" format is being studied, with the possibility of purchasing the products presented in just a few clicks.

Huge potential

Obviously, such a direction taken by TikTok will not be trivial, especially as the advertising and web marketing circles are still looking for effective ways to address their messages to young people who are abandoning traditional media and for whom Facebook is "a network. adult social ". But the potential is huge, because, as the Marketing Director of Whalar, a group specializing in influencer marketing , explained to the Financial Times "When you look at your campaign numbers on TikTok, you can exceed one billion views. Most of the time on other platforms it's a lot less. "

The TikTok audience would therefore be very receptive to these commercial operations and the arrival of a shopping experience on the application is likely to hit the mark.
