The Microsoft team plans to add webinars as a feature to Teams. However, this new offer will only be available under a new subscription plan.
Microsoft Teams offers many features that cover different areas of our work or study. So it's just a matter of combining some of the features to create different video conferencing scenarios.
Following this line, Microsoft wants to go further by offering users the ability to create and organize webinars, or webinars, from the Teams interface. But this new option will not be part of the current features but will be included in a subscription service: Teams Pro.
This new subscription service is slated to launch in mid-March, although there isn't much information about it. The idea behind this new proposal is to expand the potential of Microsoft Teams by taking into account user needs during this pandemic time.
Webinars are one of the most used tools by those who want to promote their new businesses or as part of the marketing strategy. And of course, they are also part of the team activities. This new initiative could therefore be of interest to users who have already opted for Teams as the center of their work activities.
We will see if the subscription model that Microsoft will offer as part of this Teams Pro also appeals to users. Of course, webinars won't be the only feature offered as part of this plan, so we'll have to wait and see what approach Microsoft plans to launch to make the offering attractive enough.
A plan that appears to be available as part of Microsoft 365 and Office 365 Education and Business account licenses.
