Telegram : five interesting functions that you may not know

 Location and proximity

Users of this application can send each other their locations live, as offered by WhatsApp. These allow the receiver to track the sender in real time for a specified time when on the move. However, Telegram offers the possibility of creating proximity alerts. What does this mean? These they are mini alerts that will sound when the other user is nearby. To share the location you must go to the contact’s chat window and select the clip at the bottom of the screen. There choose the button “Location” and click on “Location in real time”.

 Scheduled messages

Telegram allows you to schedule the sending of messages at a specific time. Likewise, messages can be sent without sound so as not to disturb the receiver, ideal for situations such as meetings or classes. To program and send messages without sounds is very simple. First, write the text in the normal way, but long press the send button. In this way, the aforementioned options will be displayed.

Edit and replace images

If you sent an image, but you forgot to add a text or filter, the app allows you to do it even when it has already been sent. For this, you must press the photo in question and choose the pencil cone located at the top of the screen. There you can edit the image, you can even replace it with another photo.

Leave in the background

Depending on the device and its algorithms, the phone can close Telegram and other applications that are in the background, which can cause delays in notifications. To prevent this from happening, you must go to “Settings”, then to “Notifications and sounds” and activate the option “Keep-alive service”. This will allow Telegram to continue running in the background.

 Search nearby users

In this section, the app allows you to locate other contacts that are close to the user’s location. This saves the trouble of writing down the phone number and saving the contact manually. To use this tool, you have to open the menu and select “Contacts”, then click on “Find people nearby” and you will see all the people nearby who have chosen to be visible.
