Gmail

Gmail is sending notifications to users to accept smart features in the email manager. However, the notification does not explain what they are about, so many hesitate to accept them or do so without knowing what they are giving their confirmation to.

So that you can properly assess what you are going to give acceptance to - or you have given, if you have already done so - we will explain to you what it refers to with these intelligent functions. These are the tools that are activated so that the email service, for example, can perform the smart compose function and autocomplete the text according to the user's way of typing. Another feature allows you to extract event data from emails to automatically create entries in the calendar, while another automatically filters messages and includes them in different inboxes.

These are just a few of Gmail's smart features. If you do not agree to these terms, Google notes that Gmail's features will be reduced, as these features cannot be used.

When activated, the company also asks the user to be able to access relevant information such as restaurant reservations, travel itineraries, ticket purchase, tickets, loyalty cards... in order to personalize your user experience and improve the features of other services such as Google Assistant, Google Maps, Travel and Play Store.

How to turn off smart features in Gmail

Although the features are automatically activated once the gmail request is accepted, it can be reversed if it has changed its mind. To do this, you need to follow these steps:

-Enter the Gmail app and open the left side menu by clicking on the three horizontal lines located in the upper left corner of the screen.

-Find the "Settings" option and select the account to which you want to disable the functionality.

-At the bottom, find the "Smart features and customization" option and tap on it.

-To finish, click on "Disable features" and gmail smart features are automatically disabled in your account.
